Welding Workshop for Grade 8 Girls
Durham Catholic District School Board (DCDSB) is pleased to continue to offer a Welding Workshop for Grade 8 Girls. Open to females currently in Grade 8, along with a family member (parent, guardian, caregiver etc.), this workshop will introduce participants to the world of welding.
Students and family members can expect to engage in safety discussions, shop demonstrations and practical exercises as they learn to use basic hand tools and practice gas and shielded metal arc welding techniques. They will also have the opportunity to create take-home projects over the course of the session.
Thanks to generous funding from the Ontario Youth Apprenticeship Program, the Welding Workshop is being offered free of charge.
There are two sessions currently scheduled at two different school locations. Each session has six student spaces available per location. Please note that students and their family member must be able to attend all dates in each session to register. Participants must also wear long pants and closed-toe shoes.
