Exploring the Summer Coding and Robotics Camp

Posted On Friday July 06, 2018

We all know that kids have big imaginations –that is what makes being a kid so great. Archbishop Anthony Meagher Catholic Continuing Education Centre’s Coding and Robotics Camp is offering students the opportunity to be creative, express their ideas and imaginations, while exploring a possible career pathway or learn a new skill.

This four-day Coding and Robotics Camp based at Monsignor Paul Dwyer Catholic High School and Monsignor Philip Coffey Catholic School has allowed students to design a gripper arm, learn about sensors and gears, and build and code a robot that will face off against their fellow campers in a robotics tournament.

“I have always been interested in coding, but never joined the club at school,” said Paul, a student in the camp. “This week has been great. I really like building and testing the robots.”

Another camper Matthew added, “It challenges you to solve problems and it’s great when your robot actually works.”

Exploring all the possibilities and building the perfect robot is a great way to kick off summer. For more information about summer camps available at the Durham Catholic District School Board, visit con-ed.ca. #DCDSBSummer18
